1. Look for Opportunities for Discussion

Don’t simply post a bland, passive sentence or phrase. Ask your followers for their opinion. Get them engaged and commenting. Finish your post with, phrases like; ‘tell us what you think? Or ‘tell us in the comments below.’ Remember interaction is vital to social media.

 

2. Look at the Content that Drives Interaction

Monotonous, continuous posting about your latest sale is likely to turn your followers off and once they stop interacting with you, your page will be less likely to show up in their feed. Instead, look for content that will engage your readers, get them commenting, liking and sharing for maximum impact. Consider vial videos, pictures and related content.  

 

 

 

 

3. Tie in Blog Posts

Blogs are vital to your online strategy for a number of reasons. They aid your sites SEO and Google rankings, they allow direct communication with your customers and when you post links to your social media sites, they drive followers to your website. Always link your latest blog posts to your pages.

 

4. Use the Icons

Make sure you’ve got the big social media accounts icons visibly displayed on your website and ensure the pages are linked. Nothing looks worse than when a customer clicks on the Facebook logo and ends up being brought to the Facebook sign in page or indeed their own feed, instead of your company’s page.

 

5. Use Hashtags

Hashtags are important and not just a ‘too cool for school’ phenomenon. They allow you to link your content to possibly trending topics and tap into that audience. But beware, that doesn’t mean you have to go over the top and use 20 unrelated hashtags at the end of each post either. Find a balance and make sure the hashtags are related.
